Edenlife Resident: Carol
What led you to choose Edenlife as your home?
I came to Edenlife by accident. I wasn’t familiar with this area at all – I’m originally from Perth – but I came to Australind to do some house-sitting and look after someone’s pets. While I was here, I discovered Edenlife and spent time walking along the estuary. Seeing how beautiful Australind is, I realised that Edenlife was the place for me.
I decided to build a house here, and I absolutely love living here. It’s everything I could have hoped for. Now that I’m on my own, I feel safe, supported, and truly at home. I’ve made so many new friends, and there’s a real sense that people look out for one another.
I have my own little castle that I can simply lock up and leave, which suits me perfectly because I love travelling. I’ve also taken on house-sitting and pet-sitting, as I adore dogs (especially other people’s dogs) so I can enjoy their company without the long-term commitment of owning my own.
I love all the facilities here: the gym, swimming pool, library, and the wonderful camaraderie within the community. There’s even a bus that takes us shopping if we need it. Being so close to the water in such a beautiful part of Australind makes this place truly special.
It’s a delightful place to live, and I’m so happy to be here. I’m grateful that this is where I’ll be spending my retirement.
