Living Legacy Wellington Dam Forest
Following strong community interest generated through our recent Lifestyle, Health and Wellness Expo at Edenlife Australind, we organised two private day trips to the beautiful Wellington Dam for residents keen to learn more about this unique offering.
Living Legacy Wellington Dam Forest offers a distinctive approach to memorialisation, creating natural forest environments where individuals who choose cremation can be commemorated in a living, growing landscape. Instead of traditional memorial spaces, this concept allows ashes to be placed beneath a dedicated tree or for families to contribute to the planting of a new tree in honour of their loved one.
Over time, these memorial trees grow within a protected forest setting, forming a peaceful place of reflection that continues to evolve with nature. The focus is on sustainability, renewal, and providing families with a meaningful connection to the natural environment.
These visits gave attendees the opportunity to see the site firsthand, ask questions, and gain a clearer understanding of how Living Legacy operates. Many found the experience both informative and deeply meaningful, particularly the opportunity to see how the forest is being developed and maintained.
Residents were able to learn more about the process of reserving a tree, the option of dedicating or planting new trees, and how the memorial forest continues to grow over time as a living tribute.
The interest shown reflects a growing awareness of more natural and environmentally conscious approaches to memorialisation. Living Legacy provides an option that combines remembrance with sustainability, offering families a place of ongoing connection in a natural setting.
