Edenlife Australind: Building Community Connections with the Year 7 Mercy Ambassadors
Over the past 18 months, Edenlife Australind has developed a strong and meaningful relationship with Our Lady of Mercy College, located just across the road from our community. This partnership continues to grow, fostering valuable connections between residents and students through shared experiences and community engagement.
In early April, we were delighted to welcome the Year 7 Mercy Ambassadors to Edenlife Australind. The students spent the afternoon connecting with residents from our Social Club, Community Liaison Committee, and Lawn Bowls Group, creating an atmosphere of warmth, learning, and mutual enjoyment.
The afternoon began with a friendly meet and greet in the clubhouse, allowing residents and students to get to know one another. This was followed by a delightful lunch, generously catered by Treendale Café, which provided the perfect setting for conversation and connection.
After lunch, residents and students headed outside to enjoy a fun and relaxed game of lawn bowls together. The visit concluded on a heartfelt note, with the Mercy Ambassadors presenting residents with Easter gifts—a thoughtful gesture that was warmly received.
The event was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved. A staff member accompanying the students shared that she was overwhelmed by how naturally the connections formed and the positive impact the experience had on the students. Residents, staff, and students alike expressed strong enthusiasm for participating in more events together in the future.
A heartfelt thank you to the Social Club Committee, Community Liaison Committee, and the Lawn Bowls Group for volunteering their time and contributing to the success of this event. Their involvement has helped set a benchmark for future collaborations with Our Lady of Mercy College.
